About Me

My name is Artin Baghramian and I am a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Atwater Village.

My training has taken me across a wide range of settings; a college campus, a community mental health clinic, an older adult clinic, and a forensic environment. I have also completed advanced postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. Working across these contexts has shaped my ability to sit with people from all walks of life, whatever they are carrying.

My style is warm, curious, nonjudgmental, collaborative, and direct. I hope to provide a safe and confidential space to address the ongoing patterns that are holding you back.

My Approach

Imagine you are on a boat with a hole in the bottom. Water is rushing in, and you are sinking. Your first instinct might be to get the water out of the boat. That instinct is right and it’s important to know how to take the water out, but it won’t be enough until you figure out why the hole was made in the first place and you dive deep enough to patch it.

My approach to psychology is similar. Although our instincts push us to find the tools and techniques needed to alleviate the burden we are feeling, the change we are seeking won’t last until we dive deep enough to fully understand where these problems come from.

I specialize in helping individuals and couples across diverse life stages and backgrounds to offer support through struggles such as depression, anxiety, identity formation, life transitions, trauma, shame, intimacy avoidance, and relationship issues. I work psychodynamically while also incorporating family systems and humanistic approaches.

Depth-oriented therapy for creating meaningful change.
